We started tracking investments because spreadsheets weren't cutting it
Back in 2019, a small group of us in Liège were managing our own portfolios. We'd meet for coffee and complain about juggling different platforms, manually updating numbers, and never quite knowing our real performance. Someone joked we should just build something better. So we did.
What began as a side project for five people turned into Bluxo Cwixu. We're now a team of twelve, helping clients across Belgium keep their investment data organized and accessible. No fancy promises—just tools that work the way you'd expect them to.
How we got here
Building something useful takes time. Here's the honest version of our journey, including the parts where we had to backtrack and rebuild things from scratch.
Kitchen table beginnings
Five friends, too many spreadsheets, and a shared frustration. We built the first version over weekends. It was clunky but solved our problem.
First real clients
Word spread through investment groups in Liège and Brussels. People asked if they could use our tool. We said yes, then scrambled to make it actually stable.
Complete platform rebuild
Our original code was held together with duct tape. We took six months to rebuild everything properly. Lost some sleep but gained a system that actually scales.
Team expansion
We moved to a proper office on Rue Bonne Nouvelle and hired our first full-time developers. Still feels surreal to have business cards.
Enhanced reporting features
Clients kept asking for better visualization tools. We listened and spent months building something that actually makes sense at a glance.
What's next
We're working on multi-currency support and better integration with European brokers. No timeline yet—we ship when it's ready, not before.
The people behind the platform
We're a small team based in Liège. Most of us came from finance or software backgrounds and got tired of using tools that didn't quite fit. Everyone here uses the platform daily—it keeps us honest.
Sander Verhaeghe
Co-founder & Lead DeveloperSpent ten years building trading systems before realizing retail investors needed better tools. Writes most of our backend code and refuses to use anything he wouldn't trust with his own money. Still maintains a spreadsheet habit from his consulting days.
Elke Deschamps
Client Relations & OperationsFormer financial advisor who joined us in 2022 after getting frustrated with clunky software herself. She talks to clients daily and makes sure we're building things people actually need. Keeps a running list of feature requests that probably haunts Sander's dreams.
What matters to us
We're not big on corporate values statements. But there are a few things we won't compromise on, even when it slows us down. These principles guide what we build and how we work with clients.
Your data stays yours
We don't sell information to third parties. Never have, never will. You can export everything at any time and walk away. That's just basic respect.
Realistic expectations only
We won't promise that our platform will make you a better investor. It helps you track and analyze—the decisions are still yours. Anyone claiming otherwise is selling something we're not interested in.
Build for the long term
We could add flashy features that look good in demos. Instead, we focus on reliability and accuracy. Boring? Maybe. But that's what matters when you're tracking real money.
Stay accessible
No sales calls, no pressure tactics. You can test the platform, ask questions via email, and decide if it fits. We'd rather have clients who actually need what we've built.
How we approach investment monitoring
Investment tracking seems simple until you actually try to do it properly. Different asset types, currency conversions, tax implications, fee calculations—it adds up fast. We've spent years figuring out how to handle these details accurately.
Our platform isn't magic. It's careful engineering and constant refinement based on what clients tell us doesn't work. We update calculation methods when regulations change. We test with real portfolios before releasing anything.
