Investment Monitoring Questions Answered

We've been helping Belgian investors track their portfolios since 2018. Here are the real questions people ask us—and honest answers based on what we've learned working with hundreds of clients.

Who Actually Answers Your Questions

These aren't scripted responses from a marketing team. Our support specialists handle real client questions daily, and they know the platform inside out because they use it themselves.

Isabeau Vermeersch, Client Support Specialist

Isabeau Vermeersch

Client Support Specialist

Isabeau joined us in early 2023 after working at a traditional brokerage firm. She fields questions about account setup, data imports, and those tricky scenarios where historical data doesn't match expectations. Her background in client services means she gets why people are nervous about sharing their investment information.

Diederik Aerts, Technical Support Lead

Diederik Aerts

Technical Support Lead

Diederik handles the more technical questions—API connections, data synchronization issues, and integration with Belgian banking systems. Before this role, he spent five years as a software developer, which helps when clients run into unusual technical situations that need debugging rather than standard support responses.

Common Monitoring Approaches Compared

People track their investments in different ways. We've seen clients migrate from all of these methods, and each has trade-offs worth considering before you commit to any particular system.

Method Real-Time Updates Manual Work Required Multi-Account Support Tax Reporting Help
Spreadsheets Only when you update them Significant—every transaction Yes, but you build it yourself None unless you create formulas
Bank Dashboard Yes, for that bank only Minimal for single institution Limited to that bank's accounts Basic statements, varies by bank
Portfolio Apps Depends on integrations Initial setup, then occasional fixes Usually, across institutions Some provide export features
Financial Advisor Portal Yes, for managed accounts None, but limited to advisor holdings Only assets they manage Typically included with service
Monitoring Platforms Yes, with proper connections Setup time, then mostly automated Yes, designed for multiple sources Export capabilities and some tools

The Questions We Get Most Often

How long does initial setup actually take?

For someone with accounts at two or three institutions, usually 30-45 minutes. That includes connecting your accounts and verifying the data looks correct. If you have complex holdings or want to import years of historical transactions, plan for an afternoon.

What happens if one of my bank connections breaks?

It happens—banks update their systems, authentication methods change. You'll get an alert when we can't fetch data. Most connection issues resolve with a simple re-authentication. For persistent problems, our technical team works with the data providers to fix it, though that can take a few days.

Can I track cryptocurrency alongside traditional investments?

Yes, but crypto connections tend to be less stable than traditional financial institutions. Exchange APIs change frequently, and not all platforms offer the same level of historical data. We support major exchanges, though you may need to manually input transactions from smaller platforms.

Do you share my investment data with third parties?

No. We use third-party data aggregation services to connect to your institutions, but your specific holdings and transactions remain in our system. We don't sell data, and we don't share your portfolio details with anyone unless legally required to do so.
